MERYGODIGNACOLLET

Requiem.(2025)

Bee wax, barb wire, charcoal, graphite and waxed paper. 2025.

Installed at The Really Small Museum, located at Lady Bird Lake Trail, as an initiative of the Trail Conservancy.

“REQUIEM”, as Mozart’s Requiem, consists in 5 movements, 5 roses, 5 materials or elements used.

Roses, for centuries, have been a symbol of feminine, motherhood and sisterhood. Roses combine resiliency (one can trace roses to the Oligocene, 30M years ago) and at the same time delicacy and beauty.

The intention of” REQUIEM” is to create awareness towards global warming and how much fossil fuels contribute to environmental degradation, climate change and desolation.
