Wandering Skin

Wandering Skin Project was developed in Austin TX during 2013 and 2014.

In a conceptual way, this new body of work is built around themes like regeneration, memories, emotions, belonging and feelings... the eventual need of leaving a recognizable context in order to survive.

Mery Godigna Collet uses the Oak Trees as a metaphor to address these feelings and the relationship with women.

Consist in a photographic studio of the Oak tree developed in 31 black and white prints in limited edition, 8 large format paintings over wood where she incorporates bark, resins and uses vegetable natural pigments and a video interview to 7 women: Sissy Farenthold, Lulu Flores, Ana Almaguel, Nilda de la LLata, Sheryl Cole, Amy Wong and Kristen O’Brien.
